Hank the Cow Dog and Monkey Business

RSU’s Theatre Director David Blakely has an exciting week ahead of him as his adaption of “Hank the Cowdog and Monkey Business” opens at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Blakely’s adaptation of the children’s book can be seen Thursday, June 21st through Sunday the 24th.

Presented by Tulsa Repertory Musicals, Hank the Cowdog and Monkey Business follows Hank and his best friend Drover as they discover a mysterious red box on their ranch containing a strange monkey.

Blakely says, “There are all sorts of visual elements to it. Plus, it’s funny, and it’s something the whole family can go to.”

Blakely wrote several new songs for the play and says that “Hank the Cowdog is a bit of a combination between Maxwell Smart and Barney Fife. He’s a loveable character who believes he knows more than perhaps he does. Watching him bumble around and figuring out things is really quite fun.”
