Public Radio

The new radio show that focuses on life and culture in Middle America, “This Land Radio,” will begin airing on RSU Radio starting Saturday, June 1st at 2pm.

“This Land Radio” is created and produced by Sarah Geis and Abby Wendle, who are both audio producers for the Tulsa-based media company This Land Press.

The first season of “This Land Radio” covers a wide range of subjects, from a long-format documentary on the Tulsa radio evangelist Billy James Hargis, to Oklahoma poetry and food trucks. The series features notable guests like Oklahoma musicians John Fullbright and Skating Polly, alongside Oklahomans whose names may be lesser known but still provide significant insight to the state’s culture and history.

This Land Press has gained national attention in publications such as The New York Times, the Paris Review and the Columbia Journalism Review for its unique brand of journalism focused on telling the story of contemporary Oklahoma and its people.

The broadcast partnership between RSU Radio and This Land Press is part of a broader collaboration between the two local media organizations. RSU Public TV is also airing “This Land TV,” and This Land Press news editor Holly Wall regularly appears as a featured commentator on the station’s news show, “OK News Analysis.” “This Land TV” can be seen Wednesdays at 5pm and Sundays at 9am and 10:30pm on RSU Public TV.
