The Rogers State cheerleading squad is heading to Daytona Beach,FL to compete in the National Cheerleader Association’s Collegiate Cheer and Dance competition. The team will be performing a routine that consists of: tumbling, stunting, dance, and motions choreographed by music. The routine is 2 minutes and 15 seconds of skill and endurance. Teams will be judged on degree of difficulty, perfection of routine and overall impression. RSU’s preliminary performance is at 11:08 am this Friday and the finals will be held on Saturday April 10th between 10am and noon.

The Rogers State Athletic Department will host its 7th annual banquet on Wednesday April 29th inside the Centennial Center. Former captain of Irish Soccer Club Ballymun United, Jamie Gilbert, will be the keynote speaker. This event will honor the athletic & academic achievements of Hillcat athletic programs during the 2014 & 15 academic year.

The RSU softball team suffered a two-game sweep against Northeastern State on Tuesday night. The Hillcats fell 11-3 in game one and then lost 8-4 in the finale. But, not all was lost this week for the Hillcats as they went on a road trip to Austin and defeated St. Edward’s 5-1 on Thursday night and lead the second game 5-2 before the game was stopped due to darkness. That game will resume Friday at 2pm with the third game of the series to follow. RSU’s current record is 10-22 overall record with a 6-12 record in the Heartland Conference.
