RSU Radio Set To Debut New Show

Beginning this Saturday, RSU Radio is adding a new show to the weekend schedule. Underground Airwaves, hosted by our student Music Director, Geoff Parachin, is the latest addition to RSU Radio’s diverse weekend lineup. The new show premieres Saturday, April 23rd at 6pm and will run every Saturday evening from 6-7.

Underground Airwaves is a show inspired by music that is a little rough around the edges. Garage, psych, heavier rock and much more will be the theme of the show airing Saturday evenings. Aggression and distortion, associated with bands like A Place To Bury Strangers and Metz, will be featured as well as the fuzziness and raw energy of acts like Ty Segall, Parquet Courts and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. Underground Airwaves will showcase current acts, like the ones above, and influential groups like the Velvet Underground who helped shape the alternative rock sub-genres of garage and psych.
