Pokey LaFarge, Black Joe Lewis Among Musicians Who Will Rock the Green

UPDATE: Since this article was first published, Tulsa Roots Music announced Fantastic Negrito on September 10.

Tulsa Roots Music continues its tradition of bringing unique and popular musicians of all genres to Tulsa. Working through grants, donations, and sponsorships, the organization’s focus is on providing culture and entertainment to the Tulsa area. Los Lobos, The English Beat, Fishbone, and James McMurtry, are just a few of the names Tulsa Roots has brought to town for free outdoor concerts.

Among the names for this year’s run of summer concerts, called Tulsa Roots Rocks the Green, are Pokey LaFarge, Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, and Indigenous. The events will take place Sundays between September 10 and October 1 at the Guthrie Green in downtown Tulsa. These concerts are free, family friendly, and open to anyone who loves music. Tulsa Roots events also include entertainment on the Guthrie lawn, food trucks, Oklahoma craft beer, and a relaxed atmosphere for all to feel welcome. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and find your place on the Green, or stand near the bands for an up-close experience.
