The Shelter People Hit The Road With The Sword

Local favorite The Shelter People will be joining The Sword for their Used Future Spring 2018 tour. The Sword is a four-piece band from Austin, Texas. They are known by some fans for their heavier, metal sound in their earlier albums. Their music has transitioned from heavy riffs to old school rock n’ roll influences. Which makes The Shelter People the perfect fit to join them during their Used Future tour.

Tulsa’s own, The Shelter People, are a rock n’ roll band with some blues in their style of music. The band is comprised of lead vocalist/guitarist Dakota Hurley, bassist and back up vocalist Garon Burch, and drummer Adryon Dasilva. You can hear the influence of Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix in their performances. They released an EP in July of 2017 that’s on their Bandcamp that consists of four strong tracks that you should definitely check out if you haven’t already.

The Sword’s tour kicked off on March 21 in Texas and The Shelter People will be joining them on April 25 in New Orleans for the rest of the tour. You can see them live on May 17 at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa.
