Press Play: The Demos

Although The Demos have been involved in the indie rock scene for over a decade, their newest EP released in August of last year has certified their mark on indie rock music. The band began in Rochester, New York while guitarist/lead vocalist Jason Milton and bassist/vocalist Callan Saunders were in high school. Later down the line, keyboardist Caela Moore, guitarist Jeremiah O’Reilly, and drummer RJ Papaleo completed the quintet. Their three previous albums share common testaments of the happiness and hardships of love. Whether your heart is beaming or broken, The Demos have a ballad to remedy the situation.

The Demos stepped outside of their conventional style with their new EP If You Only Knew with the help of Daniel Armbruster, lead singer of indie rock band Joywave.  The two bands have had a great rapport for years as Joywave even brought the Demos on their Thanks. Thanks For Coming tour in 2017. The Demos trusted Armbruster to bring them outside of their comfort zone while staying true to their original sound. This added help fostered a vibrant EP that holds heaps of energy.

The EP’s title track If You Only Knew is an addictive tune that boasts a tender message. It grapples with the heartache that comes from daydreaming of what could be. The Demos If You Only Knew features cheerful melodies, poppy guitar riffs, and upbeat harmonies that cleverly coincide heartfelt sentiments.
