April’s Local Music Round Up

While most of us have been locked away studying for the end of the semester, Oklahoma artists have been making magic.  April saw its share of variety (from videos to records to singles, oh my!), and now it’s time to share with you!

Brooding-“Suspiria (De Profundis)” [single]
OKC’s soft rock band, Brooding, released their single in late April, and it sounds how longing feels.  “Suspiria (De Profundis)” follows two other singles, “ArmsAroundMe” and “This World Don’t Feel Like Home Anymore” and 2018’s Collection.  The band has an upcoming show at the Vanguard with Kill Vargas at the end of the month.

Mad Honey-“Blue & You”

Mad Honey, dream pop group from OKC, dropped this video in mid-April, played Norman Music Fest two weeks later, and have a show coming up on the 17th of this month in their hometown.  Mad Honey’s video is a stunning collection of colors. Bonus points for all the paper airplane-folding.  We won’t be getting over this one.  Check it out for yourself below:

Lone Wild-Lone Wild [album]
Known as The Fairweather in a past life, Lone Wild released their debut full-length in early April.  The Tulsa indie-rockers played a release show for their delightfully synthy record on the 5th.  To catch them live, head to Hop Jam on the 19th!

Golden Ones-Hot Lunch [EP]
Lunch isn’t the only thing that’s hot on this 5-song EP; the tracks serve fresh rock’n’roll with an old school flair.  Since releasing Hot Lunch mid-April, the band has been busy playing shows and have a show coming up at Mercury Lounge.
