Black Gold Days

Glenpool celebrates a historic local event with the 34th annual Black Gold Days. The event celebrates Glenpool’s discovery of oil in 1905 and is held at the fittingly named Black Gold Park. The celebration includes a carnival, live music, a parade, and the all-new Mr. and Miss Black Gold Pageant.

Black Gold Days opens on the June 14 with a carnival and the new pageant. The carnival and vendor booths are open Friday June 15 along with live musical performances from Steve Liddell, John Dooley, and more. The final day of festivities, June 16, includes a horseshoe tournament, frog and turtle races, and the newly crowned Miss Black Gold will lead the Black Gold Parade.

Of course, expect traditional fair food alongside Cajun and German delights to satisfy your buds throughout the celebration.

Black Gold Days, sponsored by the Glenpool Chamber of Commerce, has developed an attendance of over 10,000 a day. To learn more about the Black Gold Days, visit The Glenpool Chamber.
