Rising from Beneath the Tulsa Underground

Is the Tulsa Metal scene in the middle of a recession? With the closing of the infamous Marquee, bands such as Inoperable & Koma Therapy splitting up and/or taking hiatuses such as Submerged in Dirt…the Metal Scene is in desperate need of a boost. Enter “Beneath.”

The six-piece band has been around for five years and shows no signs of slowing down. On the heels of their excellent stage showing at Rocklahoma, Beneath is here to rejuvenate the scene and bring some of the best underground metal around.

They define their brand of melodic metal as “Baby Makin’ Metal”. In other words, they appeal to women.. Compound that with a strong D.I.Y. promotional plan; this could be their metal recipe for success. Whether you’re a Metal elitist or dig the commercial side of things, “Beneath” has an unusually broad appeal. When it comes to music composition, the band is completely solid. It’s still heavy, but carries a lot of melody as well as both screaming and clean vocals. Most Metalhead’s tend to be tired of this brand of music (often referred to as Metalcore), but if one must lump the band in with a type of sub-genre, “Beneath” does it better then a lot of current national acts.

Currently, the band is working on a full length album which they plan on releasing later this year.
