If you’ve ever wanted to ride in a hot air balloon, now’s your chance! The Gatesway Foundation Balloonfest is on its way to Will Rogers Downs in Claremore for its seventeenth year. RSU Radio’s Josh Gammon will announce the activities during the 3-day event.

Balloonfest opens to the public on Friday the 3rd with balloon flights, tethered balloon rides, and “Balloon Glow.” Saturday begins with a 5K, one-mile fun run and a pancake breakfast. The day continues with some friendly competition through lawn mower races, a cake decorating contest, and balloon flights.

Live music will mark the end of each evening with country musicians Chris Monhollen on Friday and Darrel Cole on Saturday. The annual event closes on Sunday with early morning balloon flights.

The Gatesway Foundation has helped provide opportunities to people with intellectual disabilities since 1963. All proceeds from Balloonfest will go towards furthering this mission. To learn more about The Gatesway Foundation and the 17th Annual Balloonfest, check out GATESWAY FOUNDATION ONLINE.
