It’s doesn’t matter where you are…. at the gym, studying or on the road outside of the station’s broadcast range, if you have either an Android or Apple smartphone you can now listen to RSU Radio 24/7 as well as RSU Hillcat Basketball action.
“We are very excited to expand RSU Radio’s reach,” said Cathy Coomer, the station’s general manager and an RSU assistant professor. “Our students and staff dedicate an incredible amount of time and effort to our programming. It’s fantastic for them that their friends and family everywhere will be able to hear their work.”
Steve Doyle, RSU Radio’s operations manager has been working on this project for over a year. “A lot of hard work was done by our information technology department as well as RSU PR.” Doyle says that the RSU Mobile App, as well as requests from devoted listeners were impetus for the project.
RSU Radio is a primarily student-run radio station on the RSU campus in Claremore. The station went on the air in 1980 and ironically, was the first station to stream in the Tulsa area. Today the station operates year-round 24/7.
The RSU Mobile Apple is available for free on Android and Apple platforms. It can be downloaded by visiting www.rsu.edu/rsumobileapp.
