Yankovic

“Weird Al” Yankovic is returning to Tulsa in October for the 25th anniversary of his film “UHF”. Shot in Tulsa, “UHF” tells the story of a daydreaming slacker who saves a small television station with his quirky programming. So how appropriate is it that RSU Public TV is planning a special “UHF” pledge drive on Saturday, October 5th with a number of local Tulsa cast members coming to help answer the phones and talk about their on-set experiences with “Weird Al’.

In addition to his visit to RSU, “Weird Al” will be performing with his band on October 19th at the Brady Theater. RSU Public TV plans to feature unique gifts for pledgers including tickets to his concert.

“Weird Al” has sold more comedy albums than any other recording artist in history. He is best known for his parodies of hit songs from the biggest artists in the musical universe including Michael Jackson, Madonna, U2, Nirvana, Lady Gaga, and many others.
