Students display art at new RSU show

todayOctober 24, 2013

Student Art Show via press release:

Rogers State University’s annual Department of Fine Arts Student Show and Sale will open Wednesday, Oct. 30 at noon in the Foundations Gallery on the Claremore campus.

The show, which includes everything from pottery to paintings, officially kicks off with an informal reception opening night at 5 p.m. and runs through Nov. 30.

Students set the prices. They range from $20-$200.

Denny Schmickle, who heads the Fine Arts Department, said the artwork makes for great holiday gifts. “This is a great opportunity to see some great work and get your shopping out of the way at the same time,” he said.

A small commission on each sale benefits the RSU Summer Art Program in Italy. The rest of the money goes to the student artists.

For more information visit the RSU Department of Fine Arts or call 918-343-7740.
