Currently working out of Denver, Colorado, Montropo, brings a smooth, well-developed sound to the airwaves of RSU Radio. Montropo is the stage name for Andres Diaz, a singer/songwriter who grew up in Austin, TX. Diaz moved to Denver in order to hone his musical sound. His debut album, “Follow Me”, is reminiscent of the powerful folk songs from the 1960s. This is evident from the title-track, which opens the album, and  continues throughout.

It’s one of those albums where it’s hard to select only a couple of songs for airplay. Every one on the 13 tracks on the album shines. Catchy vocals and soothing guitar melodies are a defining characteristic of Montropo’s songwriting. Diaz’s flowing vocals lend themselves to the folk-pop style, and the addition of backup harmonies fill out the sound nicely.

The years of dedication he spent writing and developing “Follow Me” have paid off for the talented musician. “Follow Me” does not feel like a debut album, it has the developed sound of an musical artist in his prime. You can watch a live performance from Montropo below. Tune in to 91.3 RSU Radio to hear more from this album.
