Thee Oh Sees make An Odd Entrance

Thee Oh Sees are at it again, releasing a new album, An Odd Entrances, on November 18th only months after the release of their album A Weird Exits in mid-August. This isn’t the first time, however, that the psychedelic rock group has released more than on album in the course of a single year. They also dropped more two or more albums in 2013 and 2011.

So what is the deal with Thee Oh Sees new album? First, An Odd Entrances is the bands 18th studio album being called a companion LP to A Weird Exits. The album is also being produced through Castle Face Records who is headed by the bands lead singer John Dwyer. The LP contains a slew of all new tracks including their headlining single The Poem.

In an act befitting the band, they are pledging half of the earnings of the first pressing to go to the charity, Elizabeth House, which attempts to help homeless, pregnant women and their children by providing many services ranging from economic training to health care practices. This charity is based and services the Los Angeles area in the bands native California.

With the LP dropping in about a month fans are sure to be excited. The album continues to build on the band’s psychedelic/garage rock sound and is being pushed through the lead singers own label making the album that much more personal for the group. I’m sure that with the release of this LP Thee Oh Sees will find a increase in their fan base while also supporting a worthy cause.
