Tulsa Record Label Uses Chili to Support Local Music

Background

Horton Records is a bright spot in the Tulsa area music scene whose mission is provide support and tools for band management, promotions and more. They are a non-profit organization that strives to strengthen our community through music. On Saturday November 8th they have partnered with Cain’s Ballroom to host the Rock N’ Folk N’ Chili Cook-Off—a fundraiser to help support Tulsa area music projects including: music workshops, special showcase events, new recordings and festival support. This event gives you the opportunity to give back to the local music scene while you sample great chili and listen to some of your favorite local artists. There will be live music by Dustin Pittsley, Paul Benjaman, Wink Burcham, Desi & Cody, Chris Becker, and many more. The event will be held at the Historic Cain’s Ballroom, the doors and food lines open at 5pm and the music starts at 5:30pm. The cook-off is all ages and also includes door prizes, a silent auction, live art, and a SLJ guitar raffle. You can purchase tickets in advance for $15 or at the box office the day of for $20. Donate a non-perishable food item to benefit Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma or donate a coat for those in need at the door and receive $15 admission and a free raffle entry.
