Get ready to show your Hillcat Spirit, Rogers State University Homecoming is right around the corner.
All week, Monday November 14th through Saturday November 19th, you can join in on the Social Media Photo Contest. Take pictures of you and your friends enjoying Homecoming activities throughout the week and post the photos on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag, #HillcatNation and you can be entered to win a $100 visa gift card. RSU Homecoming Week kicks off Monday November 14th with “Paint the Town Blue.” Many school clubs and organizations will get the opportunity to show off their school spirit by painting the windows of businesses in the Nemar Center in Claremore. The art work will let up all week for the public to check out.
On Tuesday you can hang out at the West Bend Green for the Hillcat Homecoming Bonfire. You can enjoy food trucks, vendors and live music. The RSU Cheer Squad and Dance Team will both be performing and you will get the chance to meet the RSU Men’s and Women’s 2016—2017 Basketball Team. The bonfire will be lit at 5:30.
Wednesday at the Baird Hall Atrium the RSU Student Broadcasting Association is hosting their Homecoming Bake Sale from 10am until 4pm. You will be “hangry” no more with “Slam Dunk Cupcakes,” “Rebound Cookies”, and “Fast Break Treats.” All proceeds go to benefit the RSU Student Broadcasting Association. Then, later, the Hillcats face off against the NSU Riverhawks at the Claremore Expo. You can donate a new board game or puzzle and gain free admission into the game; the donations benefit our partner in education, Claremont Elementary. RSU students, faculty and staff get in free with their RSU I.D.
Thursday RSU students can participate in the “Vegas-Style” Fauxino Night. This event will be held at the Centennial Center Ballroom starting at 7pm. Show your student I.D. at the door and enjoy an evening full of Vegas-style games, attire and even enjoy a “mocktail.”
Friday you can enjoy a Night at the Movies. As part of Homecoming Week the AMC Owasso 12 will be showing “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” at 7:30pm. RSU students get in free with the showing of their student I.D., seating is limited however.
Saturday let the fun begin with Hillcat Alley starting at noon at the Claremore Expo. Hillcat Alley is free and open to the public. Enjoy free food (while supplies last), a photo booth, games and prizes. It is a pregame celebration the whole family can enjoy.
Then, at 2:00 the Hillcats take on the Bacone Warriors, with the women tipping off at 2 and the men’s game following at 4:00. You don’t want to miss the halftime festivities: the crowning of the 2016 Homecoming King and Queen. General admission is $7, Seniors and Students are $4 and Children 12 and under get in free. Don’t forget RSU student, faculty and staff get in free with their RSU I.D.
