Thee Oh Sees, Oddisee to Perform Norman Music Fest 10

Norman Music Festival is entering its tenth year of providing free, quality music to Oklahomans. The first round of 2017 headliners proves that even free events can draw some great national performers. Bands announced so far include Thee Oh Sees, Oddisee & Good Compny, GGOOLLDD, and Isreal Nash, and several local artists.

College radio superstars and psychedelic loud rockers Thee Oh Sees will take top billing at this year’s event. The San Francisco group is known for their fast, fuzzy, and unique sound. They also spent a long time hanging out in RSU Radio’s Top 10 with their 2016 album A Weird Exits, and are preparing the release of their upcoming album An Odd Entrances.

Oddisee has carved a name for himself in underground hip hop using intelligent lyrics and ear catching beat making. The Washington DC rapper has made appearances on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, went on an international tour, and had two releases in 2016, including the acclaimed Alwasta EP and the instrumental album The Odd Tape. He will perform with his live band Good Compny.

The initial lineup is filled out by electro dream poppers GGOOLLDD, who are making their way to the festival by way of Milwaukee and folk artist Isreal Nash. The NMFX main stage will also include local artists this year. Tulsa’s The Daddyo’s will be hitting the main stage, along with DEERPEOPLE and Lincka.

Norman Music Festival will take place April 27, 28, and 29 in downtown Norman. It is a free event. More information can be found on their website.
