A Gathering Place For Tulsa Announces Opening Date

The long-awaited announcement of the opening date for Gathering Place is finally here! Hundreds of local children helped announce that the park will be opening on September 8. The park will eventually cover 100 acres along the Arkansas River. There will be a five-acre playground, sport courts, bike and skate parks, nature trails, and large lawns for concerts and events.

Opening day will feature many exciting events including a live performance from The Roots, a neo-soul and hip-hop band. Day one will be kicking off 100 days of celebration. A free event will be happening each evening until the end of the year. So mark your calendars to see a free live performance from the legendary group, The Roots, and to check out the opening of the long-awaited Gathering Place.
