Musician’s Haven is coming up on five years of providing a space for musicians and music fans in Claremore. Executive Director Sara Fiegener started the non-profit after noticing that the area was lacking a place and community for live musicians. Musician’s Haven has hosted multiple Jam Nights, when anyone can come to play or listen. They also host intimate concerts in their Bison Flat series, which recently included national recording artist Beau Jennings. The organization even offers lessons, and venue and practice space for rent.
While the organization has had a successful first five years, the future is where Feigner wants you to focus. With several events in the works, Musician’s Haven is working to keep live music kicking in Claremore. The first of these upcoming events is the Five Year Bash, celebrating the organization’s fifth year in the area. The lineup includes two Tulsa bands, Autumn Shade and Move Trio. To top off the lineup, players from Musican’s Haven’s jam nights will come together to form the Jam Band. They will play selected cover songs selected specifically for the evening.
The show starts at 7 pm this Saturday, September 29 at the Melton Gallery, located on JM Davis between Will Rogers and 4th. Tickets are $25 each, or $40 for couples. Kids are free! You can purchase tickets at musichaven.org or at the door. Tune in to RSU Radio Friday morning at 8 to hear our interview with Sara Fiegener about the event and this history of the organization.
