Press Play: Pavo Pavo

Pavo Pavo’s ethereal sound first graced our ears with Young Narrator in the Breakers.  Three years later, and the duo are back with a new album, Mystery Hour, and many changes.

The members of the group met during their time studying music at Yale.  They formed a band and moved to New York, where they found a sound all their own.  During the writing of this record, two members, Eliza Bagg (vocals, strings, and synths) and Oliver Hill (vocals, guitar, and keys) were parting ways in their romantic relationship.

This split led to Hill writing much of Mystery Hour, then working with Bagg on arrangements and musical textures within the songs.  These songs vary from soft and intricate to bright and explosive.
