
Oklahoma Artists Showcase at SXSW
With one of the biggest music events happening just hours away, it is no surprise to see Tulsa well represented at SXSW later this month. The festival has grown exponentially since its beginning in 1987. The festival features music from nationally known big names to up-and-coming local artists. If you’re making your way down to Austin later this month, be sure to check out these Tulsa artists.
- Branjae – A soulful singer also known for her work with Count Tutu
- BRONCHO – this internationally known indie rock band will be headlining the Tulsa Music Showcase
- Casii Stephan and the Midnight Sun – a unique, catchy singer/songwriter
- COMBSY – featuring Chris Combs, formerly of Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, this group takes you on an experimental journey
- Dialtone – hip hop with a laid back flow and catchy beats
- Electric Billy Club – rock and roll power trio
- Eric Himan – Tulsa’s long-running pop rock and roller
- Henna Roso – a collective of musicians dedicated to fighting hunger in America
- Jared Tyler – a singer/songwriter playing red dirt and Americana
- Nightengale – jazzy soul with a powerful voice
- Republican Hair – new wave punk
- Roots of Thought – indie rockers with a hint of psych (bonus interview with Only Oklahoma)
- Zunis – psychedelic indie rock
South By Southwest happens in Austin, TX March 8 through March 17. Many of the Tulsa band will play the official Tulsa showcase at Augustine on March 14.
