Alternative Singers Surprise on Soundtrack

New Netflix feature Between Two Ferns features a star-studded cast ranging from Matthew McConaughey to Brie Larson to Benedict Cumberbatch. There’s an endless flow of cameos from many of Hollywood’s darlings.  For alt-music lovers, one particular cameo stole the show.

Perhaps, a band of cameos would be more accurate.  During a heartfelt moment between lead Zach Galifianakis and his fictional film crew, Phoebe Bridgers and The National’s Matt Berninger partner up to form “Spiders from Bars”.  They’re backed by members of The Walkmen.

Although yet-to-be-released, eager fans of these two can skip to the 42 minute mark and catch “Walking On a String.”  The song will be widely released October 17th.
