Falling For Oklahoma Music

todaySeptember 28, 2019

Background

September is ending, which means it’s finally legal to start wearing cardigans, drinking hot beverages, and spending too much time wandering Halloween stores.  It’s also time to round up the latest releases from Oklahoma artists.

Cowboy 2.0-Content Farm Vol. 5: summer vacay

Cowboy 2.0 is back with another cool collection of tracks from local artists.  This month features works from The Daddyo’s, Maddie Razook, Rose Glasses, and friends.  For anyone who isn’t ready to let go of summer, roll down your windows, put on your sunscreen, and take the scenic route through town.

Henna Roso-Feed the Hungry
Music with a message? Sign us up.  Tulsa-based collective Henna Roso is using their music to raise awareness and funds to fight food insecurity in the United States.  Over 26,000 meals were raised at the Feed the Hungry release show, and more will be raised as the album is sold and streamed.  Give the album a spin and spread the love.

Husbands-“Mexico”
I hope your bags are packed because it’s time to run away.  OKC’s Husbands released a tender little surf number that will have you daydreaming about the day you dip out of the office and escape with your special someone.

The Shelter People-“My Darling Girl”
It’s rock & roll time, baby.  The Shelter People dropped these news singles for free over on their bandcamp.  Check ’em out for some mind-melting guitar tunes.

Stepmom-“Paper & Wax”

stepmom’s got a dreamy one this month. Their first single is a soft, synthy delight.  Need more stepmom? Head to their facebook page to catch a live video of “king of carrot flowers”.

Fossil Youth-“Nobody’s Happy”
After dropping hints earlier this year, Fossil Youth have returned with single “Nobody’s Happy”.  The track features vocals from Sleeping With Sirens singer, Kellin Quinn. The band are playing a celebration show in OKC on November 1st.

Stay tuned in to RSU Radio to keep up-to-date with Oklahoma artists!
