Jenny Lewis Shares New Song “Under The Supermoon”

Jenny Lewis dropped a new song “Under The Supermoon” in collaboration with Malian musician Habib Koité. The song is part of Let The Rhythm Lead: Haiti Song Summit Vol. 1, a collaborative benefit album in support of non-profit organization Artists for Peace and Justice. Along with Lewis and Koité, the Let The Rhythm Lead project also features Paul Beaubrun, Jackson Browne, Raúl Rodríguez, Jonathan Russell, Jonathan Wilson, and Haitian roots band Lakou Mizik. The full album is set to drop on January 31st.

The lovesick ballad begins as a quaint country song but later involves a full band, accented by Koité’s gentle vocals.  “The whole world thinks we’re insane”, Jenny Lewis sings over heartfelt guitar and soft bongos. The song ends with a celebratory and uptempo moment of thanks. The accompanying music video features Lewis reclining on a staircase while gazing at the sky. Soon after lighting a candle, she takes a ride on a colorful bus to jam with Koité and other musicians. The montage also features clips of villagers in Haiti going about their lives, but in the end, they all come together to celebrate around a bonfire.

Jenny Lewis will be embarking on a tour with Harry Styles, and playing select dates on his headlining tour supporting Fine Line. The tour includes three Texas dates set for August of this year. For a full list of tour dates and destinations, click here.
