Norman Music Fest Announces First Headliners

The Drums, (Sandy) Alex G, Kero Kero Bonito, and Metz headline the first round of announcements for this year’s Norman Music Fest. This year’s NMF, a long-running free event, will take place April 23 through 26 in downtown Norman, Oklahoma. Alex G headlines the opening Thursday night, Metz plays Friday, and The Drums and KKB will finish out the weekend’s events on Saturday.

The festival announced a group of artists, which also included Y La Bamba, Radkey, Lando Chill, and Mannequin Pussy. The announcement also included several locals like Oklahoma legend Hosty, up and comers Kat Lock, and the eclectic hip hop group Flock of Pigs.

This is the festival’s 13th year. They are no stranger to big names playing the festival, with previous years headliners including The Polyphonic Spree, Of Montreal, Dirty Projectors, and Portugal. The Man. The event features several outdoor stages and bands playing bars and venues, all of which are free. More bands will be announced between now and the event, including a slew of local musicians. More information is available at normanmusicfestival.com.
