U.S. Girls Announce New Album and North American Tour

The experimental pop outfit U.S. Girls announced their seventh studio album Heavy Light which is hitting shelves on March 6th. Along with news of a new record, the band announced an impressive list of spring tour dates and released lead single “Overtime.”

U.S. Girls’ 2018 breakout album In a Poem Unlimited received rave reviews. In a review, Pitchfork called In a Poem Unlimited “a righteous collection of razor-sharp songs, full of spit and fury, a high-water mark for political pop music.” Heavy Light takes a personal approach with U.S. Girls founder Meg Rhemy moving away from previous work that focused on character studies for a more introspective approach. The 13 tracks weave a specific story while sifting through Rhemy’s childhood experiences. Three of the tracks are re-workings of past songs, “Statehouse (It’s a Man’s World)”, “Red Ford Radio”, and “Overtime.” Listen to the lead single and view the accompanying visuals here:

In support of Heavy Light, U.S. Girls are embarking on a 27-date tour across North America this spring. The band will be visiting neighboring states Texas and Missouri. A complete list of tour dates can be found below, and tickets can be purchased here.
