Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst on Staff

The Better Oblivion Community duo are quitting their day jobs (as alternative music sweethearts) to pursue their dream of being production assistants.

On Team Coco’s new web-series Meet the CONAN Staff, Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst are playing themselves, if they’d left the music scene to be assistants for the late night show. Each of the two receive…very different reactions from their fellow staffers.

Oberst and Bridgers haven’t actually quit music; in fact, new exciting things are on the way from both artists.

Oberst, as the “voice of the emo indie rock movement”, will be reuniting and touring with Bright Eyes this spring.  The band is working on new material for the first time in nine years.

Bridgers is currently touring with The National and will soon head out with The 1975, as well as headlining several festivals.  She’s working on the follow-up to her debut Stranger in the Alps.  Her sophomore record is expected later this year, after being put on hold to work on two other projects: boygenius and Better Oblivion Community.
