Sharon Van Etten Shares New Single

You may know Sharon Van Etten for her stark synth-rock but lately, she’s taken up another talent. She recently began acting with a debut on the cult-favorite Netflix series the OA. Now, she’s about to take part in her first feature film. Van Etten will be flexing her acting muscles once again in Never Rarely Sometimes Always, a new indie drama from writer and director Eliza Hittman. The film has already been shown at Sundance, and it features Van Etten as the mother of a teenage girl in rural Pennsylvania.

Sharon Van Etten’s involvement in the film includes more than her role. She has also provided a brand-new song for the soundtrack. Clearly she never leaves the studio, as this song follows the release of last month’s single “Beaten Down.” Van Etten’s latest tune, “Staring At A Mountain”, is a soft and heartfelt ballad.
