The Growlers Share New Single

It seems many artists have been inspired by their own dreamscapes recently with COIN’s new album Dreamland, Glass Animal’s forthcoming album also named Dreamland, and now The Growler’s new single “Dream World.” The new single was teased earlier in the week with a series of social media posts that repeated the phrase “Choose the Dream World.”

The new track stays loyal to The Growler’s signature sound of which they’ve coined “beach goth”, a unique blend of lo-fi surf-rock, garage rock, Americana and psychedelic. The instrumentals have a sunny and optimistic start with a tinkling piano lead before transitioning into a buoyant bassline and bright guitar riffs. The lyrics tackle complicated love in a complicated world and the comfort of escapism. “Choosing a Dream World /Where a heart plus a heart can equal love,” sings frontman Brooks Nielsen, “Go make your own world/ If there ain’t enough to choose from.”      Stream the new track below.
