What to Stream This Weekend

Over the past few months, livestream concerts have become an innovative part of the new normal. Artists are recording performances from their abodes for late night television and they’re also teaming up for virtual music festivals. This weekend, you can catch a livestream from Rainbow Kitten Suprise’s Sam Melo and Jason Isbell as well as a star-studded festival hosted by House Party. Take a look at your possible weekend plans below:

Living Room Concert Series: Ramona & the Phantoms

Yours truly, RSU Radio, will be broadcasting/streaming a living room performance from Tulsa band Ramona & the Phantoms. Tune in on 91.3 FM or our website this Friday, May 15 at 7 p.m. to jam out to what frontwoman Ramona Phantom calls “music to get sad to.”

The Black Keys Replay

This Friday at 9 a.m. The Black Keys will release Live At The Crystal Ballroom on YouTube. Recorded in April 2008 in Portland, Oregon, the film will be available for only 72 hours. Watch it on the band’s YouTube channel.

Sam Melo Livestream

Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s Sam Melo will host a “Live from the Living Room” performance at 7 p.m. this Friday. The stream benefits the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and its partners. Watch it on the RKS YouTube channel.

Perfume Genius Livestream

Perfume Genius will discuss and performs songs from his new album Set My Heart on Fire Immediately. The stream is hosted by Pitchfork, and will be going live this Friday at 4 p.m. on YouTube.

Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires Livestream

This acoustic evening celebrates the release of ‘Reunions’. The artists will be streaming live from the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville. Watch it this Friday at 7 p.m. here.

924 Gilman Livestream Festival 

This festival benefits the iconic Berkley, California venue. The lineup includes Thick, Mom Jeans and more. It all goes down this Saturday at 6 p.m. on the 924 Gilman’s Facebook page.

In The House

Social networking app Houseparty is hosting a three-day virtual festival from May 15-17. In The House features over 40 entertainers and artists performing, giving cooking lessons, doing workout videos, singing karaoke and more. The star-studded lineup includes Zooey Deschanel, Terry Crews, Alicia Keys and Snoop Dogg. View the full lineup here.
