Fleet Foxes Release ‘From The Basement’ Set

todayJuly 15, 2020

Background

2008 was a simpler time. MGMT dropped “Electric Feel”, MIA’s “Paper Planes” was a total culture shift, and Fleet Foxes were supporting their instant hit debut album and the Sun Giant EP. During this time, Fleet Foxes recorded a set for Nigel Godrich’s From The Basement series (while Josh Tillman aka Father John Misty was still on drums). Videos of the set have appeared over the years, but there has never been a high-quality version of the full set, until now.

Today’s release of Fleet Foxes’ From The Basement set is a part of Godrich’s plan to release the entirety of the archives onto YouTube. The archives include performances from Radiohead, The White Stripes, Sonic Youth, The Shins, and Thundercat among many others. Check out the 2008 performance from Fleet Foxes below.
