Lollapalooza Releases Lineup

While many festivals have cancelled, Lollapalooza lives on online. The festival’s lineup and plan were announced early Monday.

The fest will be streamed via YouTube Thursday the 30th through August 2nd.  Archived sets, new streams, and international selections make up the over 150 planned performances.  Historic sets include Arcade Fire, Alabama Shakes, Paul McKartney, and Chance the Rapper, just to name a few. Contributing to the exclusive new live performances are The Neighbourhood, Alison Wonderland, Kaskade, Tank and the Bangas, with more announcements to come.

Aside from celebrating music, Lolla is also raising awareness for local and national organizations. When We All Vote, co-chaired by Michelle Obama, is a non-partisan non-profit that works to increase participation in elections by closing age and race gaps. The Equal Justice Initiative serves to end mass incarceration, challenge racial and economic injustice, and protect the under-protected and most at-risk in the U.S. The Arts for Illinois Relief Fund supports venues, artists, and music industry workers that COVID has impacted.

Between the music, Lolla organizers plan to host conversations with tastemakers, artists such as LL COOL J, and organization leaders.  To see some of your favorite college radio artists, head to the Lolla YouTube page after this week’s RSU Radio Living Room Concert, and enjoy the fest for free.
