Oklahoma’s own Samantha Crain has been writing, recording, and touring for over a decade, and her music just keeps getting better. Crain’s 6th full-length album, A Small Death explodes with emotion and grit, from acoustic ballads to top-of-her-lungs pop-rock. Samantha’s new album feels like Oklahoma, and touches a variety of styles throughout it’s 11 tracks.
Back in January, Samantha dropped the music video for the lead single, “An Echo”. The song is a painful look back at a failing (or already failed) relationship. The story is accented by echoey refrains, slide guitars, and a saxophone that fits the tone so well.
Anyone who is familiar with Samantha’s work knows that for every one of these melancholy songs on an album, there are often as many catchy, positive moments. One of the beauties of her work is the variety and freshness that shines through on each release.
A Small Death is out now on Ramseur Records. Check out other music videos from this album.
