Singles for the Weekend 10/2

This week has singles to dance to, singles to cry to, and singles to feel merry to. That’s why we love the weekend.

Glass Animals – “Heat Waves – Stripped Back”

Glass Animals dropped Dreamland in August.  This week, they released three stripped back version of songs from the album as “Bonus Levels”. “Heat Waves” is transformed from a summer anthem to a slow-burning filled-with-yearning ballad.

Bishop Briggs – “HIGHER”

Bishop Briggs is going rogue on “HIGHER”. In an interview, Briggs mentions the song was written in the aftermath of a breakup and hopes it will empower people to create their own futures. The artist with a soul-stirring voice was born in England, raised in Japan, and is apparently quite the TikTok phenomenon.

LANY – “heart won’t let me”

mama’s boy is out now. LANY released “heart won’t let me” as the newest single from the 14 song record. Think LANY’s dream pop sound with sprinkles of Okie on top.

Bad Suns – “Baby Blue Shades”

Okay, we’re having fun now. Rose colored glasses might make everything hazy and wonderful, but “Baby Blue Shades” show everything once you’ve broken free of the haze. Bad Suns are staying true to their catchy pop-rock roots on this one.

Peach Kelli Pop – “Stupid Girl”

Lucky Star comes out next week! For now, a relatable tune for anyone who feels different.

Dolly Parton – A Holly Dolly Christmas

Okay, A Holly Dolly Christmas isn’t a single, but it IS Dolly Parton. So, I’ll make an exception to regular format. Please, listen to the Dolly Parton/Jimmy Fallon duet of “All I Want for Christmas is You” to feel really festive.
