Black Midi Share New Single And Contest

UK math rock group Black Midi have shared yet another new single from their upcoming sophomore LP Cavalcade. “Chondromalacia Patella” is the name, and I bet you can’t say it three times fast. The artsy new track is all over the place per the Black Midi brand. The track begins with prog rock before transitioning to a swanky jazz arrangement and crooning vocals from frontman Geordie Greep. It doesn’t take long for this jazz fusion reprieve to descend into chaos as the band rips into an intense, earth-shattering bout of noise rock. Check out the new track and transcend below.

Along with the new song, Black Midi also announced the premiere of Cavalcade in a YouTube livestream on May 26 at 1 PM CT. The band will also be promoting the new album (and channeling their inner Willy Wonka) with the Cavalcade Golden Ticket contest. Here’s the rundown from the press release:

One Golden Ticket will be inserted into 1 LP in the US and 1 in the UK. Anyone who buys a standard Cavalcade LP in the US and UK could be the lucky finder/winner and can claim one of three prizes:

1) Black Midi will be the function band for an event of your choice
2) One day in the studio with black midi for a creative collaboration
3) Guestlist spots for two people for all future worldwide black midi headline live shows for 10
years.
