Dry Cleaning is Back

Earlier this year, UK band Dry Cleaning released New Long Leg, an eccentric voyage into mathy-yet-monotonous post-punk. “Scratchcard Lanyard” and “Strong Feelings” were a couple of key highlights. Today, Dry Cleaning is back with a double-A-side single “Bug Eggs” and “Tony Speaks!” The tracks come from a studio session from the group’s latest record.

“Bug Eggs” ruminates on the bourgeoning confidence that grows with age, while “Tony Speaks!” holds a more political message. On the track vocalist/lyricist Florence Shaw said, “The lyrics to ‘Tony Speaks!’ were written days after the Conservative party won the December 2019 UK election. I was thinking about climate change, environmental catastrophes and political campaigning.” Take a listen to both tracks below.
