New Latin Music: Omar Apollo & Kali Uchis, Luis Fonsi, Sebastian Yatra, and more

todayNovember 18, 2021

Background

Colombian singer Sebastian Yatra released a pop love song called “Tacones Rojos” (Red Heels). The music was filmed in Madrid and features Spanish actress Clara Galle.

But, that is not all Sebastian has been working on.

Disney’s new movie ‘Encanto’ is set to premiere on November 24 in theaters. The soundtrack from the movie will be released on November 19 with the physical copy available on December 17, 2021. The soundtrack includes 8 songs with features from Sabastian Yatra and Carlos Vives. Sebastian will sing an original song called “Dos Oruguitas” and an English version of the song titled “Two Oruguitas.”

La Santa Cecilia and Luis Enrique released a new rock single called “Solo En Mis Sueños” (Only In My Dreams).

Luis Fonsi released a romantic single about the meaning of true love called “Nuestra Balada” (Our Ballad).

Micaela Salaverry and Michelle Anzo released a new single together called “Aburrido ;(“ (Bored).

Omar Apollo and Kali Uchis collaborate for the second time on “Bad Life.” The song is about a relationship and the resentment they feel.

The first time they collaborated was in October 2020 on the song “Hey Boy.” Omar had previously released a snippet of the track in January, which is when Kail heard, and asked to be a part of the song.

Omar is currently working on releasing an album after releasing two EP’s and singles. One of which, “Te Olvidaste” with C. Tangana is nominated for Record of the Year and Best Alternative Song at the 2021 Latin Grammys.

Producer Dimelo Flow collaborated with Anitta and Chimbala on the new single “Quiero Rumba” (I Want To Rumba). And just as the title of the song states, it is a song that makes you want to keep dancing.

The music video was filmed in a Nightclub in Miami, Florida.

This is Anitta’s second single after releasing “Faking Love” with Saweetie.

The Artist Museum has released their list for the Most Awarded Artist of 2021 and Anitta has also been awarded the most awards in 2021. At the number 6 spot, Anitta has claimed 41 awards, ranging from the MET Gala to the Billboard Latin Music Awards.

This new single is for Dimelo Flow’s upcoming album called ‘Always Dream.’ An album that tells his story and his journey through the music industry.

The song is a sample from “Rap Das Armas,” by Cidinho & Doca. DJ Marlboro confirmed that authorizations were requested and accepted for the sample.

Stating that, “Before anyone starts to stir up discord with misinformation, Anitta did ask for the necessary authorizations and gave this new song the credits due to the original authors, Júnior and Leonardo of the song “Rap das Armas”, which is also a soundtrack for the film ‘Tropa de Elite’. While others in the Tupinikim lands that were born yesterday, and do not reach Anitta’s feet, think they can appropriate and use other people’s music without the proper authorization and credits to the original authors, and lie saying they asked for withdrawal to refuse to give it to these are recognition, trying to deceive people saying that it is a tribute, I repeat, tributes do not pay the honorees’ bills. No one will ever see the appropriation of the rights of others as a ‘homage.’”
