RSU Radio Helps Launch Osage Culture Podcast, Wahzhazhe

todayDecember 21, 2021

Background

The Osage Nation announced Wahzhazhe: The Official Osage Nation Language and Culture Podcast. This new program was created to celebrate, preserve, and teach Osage culture and language. Hosts Tom Ashmore and Abby Mashunkashey talk with cultural leaders, language teachers, and Osage elders to discuss what it means to be Osage. The first season contains three episodes covering Osage culture, food sovereignty, and language preservation.

Wahzhazhe was created using CARES Act funds, including a paid partnership with RSU Radio, which assisted in the planning, production, and distribution of the podcast. The show is written and recorded at the Osage Nation Audio Room in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Episodes are available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, RSURadio.com, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
