CAFUNÉ Release Music Video for Viral Hit

cafuné: verb

definition: Portuguese word that roughly translates to “the act of running one’s fingers through a loved one’s hair”.

NYC-based CAFUNÉ became viral with their song “Tek It” through the social media app TikTok. Because of the song’s popularity, the duo (comprised of Noah Yoo and Sedona Schat) released a music video on June 2nd, three years after the single was released. Two years after the single’s release, the band featured it on their debut album Running. The music video is animated, with a vintage anime stylization and centers around a cat who turns into a person. The lyrics of the song reflect upon a romantic relationship gone bad. The singer seems to be berating their ex. However, the chorus shows that the person singing is not quite over this person they seem to dislike so much. It’s a great song, check out the music video below:

The pair also announced that they signed with Elektra Records, known for signing artists such as Avril Lavigne, PinkPantheress, and more. CAFUNÉ will be joining CHVRCHES’ Screen Violence tour in July with the closest stop being in Denver, CO on September 20th. Hopefully we’ll see more music from the band soon and perhaps even a collaboration with CHVRCHES!
