Nobody else can claim to have been championed by Noel Gallagher of Oasis, Johnny Marr of The Smiths, Pete Doherty of The Libertines, Sam Fender, Louis Tomlinson of One Direction, and countless other legends on the exhaustive list supporting the young up-and-comer Andrew Cushin.
I gave a glowing review of his debut record, Waiting For The Rain, which spent three weeks at #1 on the Official Independent Album Breakers Chart while surging into the Top 10 on the Independent Albums and Record Store Charts. He also became an increasingly significant draw in the live arena, particularly in his hometown of Newcastle, where he became the youngest artist to sell out the local City Hall, with over 4,500 people attending over two nights.
All of that, of course, was just the beginning.
“There’s a song for everybody on this record I think. A folky toe tapper, anthemic rock ballads and a few sentimental numbers. Instrumentally I think we’ve really picked up the pace and created something people can get their teeth into.
– Andrew Cushin, 2024
The record will be produced by Gareth Nuttall, who recently worked with The K’s and Lottery Winners, both of whom rose from cult-level favorites to the upper reaches of the charts.
Alongside the record’s announcement came the release of the title track, Love Is For Everyone. I’m proud to report it’s everything it should be—and more: anthemic, uplifting, lyrically rich, and well-produced, with a bridge that will have you running through walls.
