Press Play: Audio Book Club

Press Play is back! We’re kicking off this new edition with Audio Book Club, a group that has been topping the RSU Radio Top 10 chart. Established in 2018, the band has quickly cemented itself within the OKC music scene. Their discography is filled with energetic, rock-fueled tracks that make you want to get up and dance.

The group’s latest album, Born Loser, is filled with upbeat dance tracks that pay homage to the punk stylings of the ‘80s and ‘90s. You can definitely feel it on tracks like “Heavy Operator,” which features a fun bassline and roaring vocals. The album’s two singles, “She’s Too Cool For You” and “Here’s My Number,” are both drenched in reverb. This album is filled with nostalgic new wave, making it a great addition to any playlist.

Other standout tracks include the rougher “Look Who’s Hammering” and the groovy “These People Freak Me Out” from their EP What If We Got Buff? Overall, any fans of indie rock, garage rock, post-punk, or new wave will find something to enjoy from Audio Book Club.
