This week’s Top 10 sees your favorite artists playing a game of musical chairs, with one old challenger throwing their hat in the ring. Hotline TNT from New York, New York can make it anywhere and just barely makes it here at #10 – down from #6 last week. Panda Bear’s Sinister Grift bumps them up from #8 last week to #4 this week (a sinister grift, indeed), with The Happy Fits sliding a little to the left at #5. Subsonic Eye’s Singapore Dreaming was caught sleeping this week, taking second place to returning indie-heavy-weight Frankie Cosmos and her album Different Talking at #1.
We featured Gelli Haha’s debut album Switcheroo as this week’s Artist to Keep an Eye Out For. A colorful union of Studio 54 and Area 51, Gelli Haha’s “opening trick” features dream-like pop tracks oozing with analog charm.
9 out of 10 bands from last week returned, with Audio Book Club’s Born Loser taking a backseat this week to catch their breath.
