Urban Wilderness: Turkey Mountain Rocks!
We saw some big shake ups this week on The ’10! Audio Book Club climbed back up the ladder with their album Born Loser taking the #1 spot week after a 4th place finish last week. Frankie Cosmos’ album Different Talking takes their place at #4 this week – still closely orbiting the top 3. Meanwhile, Subsonic Eye took their eyes off the prize and fell from #1 to #7 this week. Wet Leg puts their foot down and keeps their #5 spot from last week, and in a shocking turn of events Tunde Adebimpe makes a triumphant return to #8 after a week off with his album Thee Black Boltz.
New arrivals this week include the latest album from Night Moves, Double Life, at #10 and Slow Joy, who quickly worked their way up to #3 with their album A Joy so Slow at Times I Don’t Think it’s Coming. Last week’s newcomers, Alex G and Witch, took a step back this week for a little rest and relaxation. A more surprising departure was Foxwarren saying au revoir and returning to the rolling hills of Canada.
This week’s Artist to Keep and Eye out For is Judy Blank and her new single “Cosmic Kids.” Originally from Netherlands, Judy made the move to the US last year and has been growing a cult-like following ever since. “Cosmic Kids” features songs from her upcoming album Big Mood, releasing August 22nd.
