Urban Wilderness: Turkey Mountain Rocks!
We’ve got some fresh new names on the Top 10 this week! First up, Curtis Harding’s latest album Departures and Arrivals: Adventures of Captain Curt makes a smooth landing at #10, followed by another new arrival, Big Thief, stealing the show at #8 with Double Infinity. Then there’s some sweet tunes from Blood Orange off their album Essex Honey at #4 and last, but not least, there’s Cut Copy with Moments at #3.
As for our returning faces, The Beths’ Straight Line Was a Lie takes #7 from Pile’s Sunshine and Balance Beams, knocking them down to #9. OK Cool takes a step back to #6 making way for Dewayne as he falls from #1 to #5. Forth Wanderers don’t wander off too far, as their album The Longer This Goes On stays right where it was last week at #2. Wombo makes Wombo moves and winds up at #1 this week.
Alex G’s Headlights hits the road this week after a two week stay in the Top 10 and T Hardy Morris’ Artificial Tears gives us a tearful goodbye after just one week. Abomination Revealed at Last goes back into hiding as the Osees leave the list, and leading a Double Life just became too much for Night Moves as they make off in the dead of night.
This week we featured Night Teacher’s newest single “New Cage” as our Artist to Keep an Eye out For. From her upcoming album, Year of the Snake, Night Teacher has a sound that’s been described as part seance and part lullaby. Lilly Bechtel, the woman behind Night Teacher, is also a published poet and mentor to other artists and musicians.
