Urban Wilderness: Turkey Mountain Rocks!
Pale Rider describes itself as “an avant-garde musical group from Redlands, California.” Originally a solo project by the group’s vocalist, Rus Martin, Pale Rider has expanded into a larger project.
In February, the group released their latest album 1TO0. The album starts strong with “No Divider,” a solid indie rock number. Things slow down on “Waking Up In A Dream,” which, alongside the track “EyeSwoon” explores the difficulties of being separated from someone you care about. One of my favorite songs from the album is “Until We Meet Again,” which, of course, is about loving and waiting for someone until you have the chance to see each other again. Overall, this is an emotionally heavy album, and I highly recommend giving it a listen for some artsy pop-rock goodness.
Need some more Pale Rider? Be sure to give their first album, 2Is1 (2022), a listen. This album leans a little more towards dream pop, especially on songs like the bright “Love You,” the ambient “We Are Everything,” and the soft, introspective “Blame.” I think most of this album will get permanent spots on my playlist, so don’t miss it!
1TO0 is out on Coming Home Records, and the album is available on Pale Rider’s Bandcamp page. 2Is1 can be found on most streaming platforms. To learn more about Pale Rider, check out the band’s website.
