It was a battle for the top 5 spots this week, with some great bands going head-to-head, but who was the new face on the block this week? At #10, we saturated the airwaves with the latest album from Neko Case called Neon Grey Midnight Green, making Curtis Harding and Captain Curt walk the plank. Following her, someone was feeling a little lovesick and just couldn’t stay away… That’s The Happy Fits’ album lovesick at #9. Next up, we can’t forget the latest album from Nation of Language; it’s Dance Called Memory sitting pretty at #8. Making room for Nation of Language, we have Double Infinity from Big Thief moving up to #7. In a not-so-sweet development from Blood Orange, Essex Honey falls from fourth place last week to #6 this week, and Forth Wanderers’ The Longer This Goes On took too long and fell to #5. OK Cool chats it up at #4 with Chit Chat followed by De’Wayne’s june at #3. Cut Copy cuts off the competition with Moments and takes the #2 spot, leaving #1 wide open for a Wombo-combo from Wombo and their latest album Danger in Fives.
Captain Curt departs as soon as he arrives as Curtis Harding leaves our list this week, followed by Pile’s Sunshine and Balance Beams heading for the horizon, and then we curved The Beths album, Straight Line Was a Lie.
We aren’t calling any fowls on our Artist to Keep an Eye Out For this week – it’s Geese Getting Killed. They formed in Brooklyn, New York back in 2016 and have since released 4 studio albums, 3 EP’s, and a live album. They have previously toured with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and are currently on tour with Vampire Weekend.
