RSU Radio’s Top 10 Countdown – 10/24/2025

todayOctober 27, 2025

Background

It was a right old game of musical chairs on the Top 10, this week, with a few new names sneaking their way to the table. Blood Orange seems to have gotten turned around in Essex, as Essex Honey falls from #4 all the way to #10. Big Thief advances from petty theft to regular theft, moving up one spot to land them at #9 this week. Stella and the Very Messed run into familiar territory, with Big Familiar going from #5 to #8. Cut Copy’s Moments had its moment in the spotlight, but now finds itself at #7 after being #3 last week. A blast from the past, Night Moves leave their Double Life behind for a spot at #5. Rocket propelled R is for Rocket to #2 last week and is going strong at #3 this week. OK Cool makes an OK fool out of the competition, and finds time to Chit Chat in 2nd place. And last but not last, we have Forth Wanderers in 1st with The Longer this Goes On enjoying its second at #1 in a row.

Our two new bands this week should be familiar if you’ve kept up with our Artists to Keep an Eye Out For. At #6, we have Automatic’s new album that begs the question: Is it Now? And at #4 we have the latest album from Geese called: Getting Killed. Wonderful.

As for this week’s Artist to Keep an Eye Out For, we featured two sick songs from Fionn that will blow you out of the water. Off their latest album, Scum, we played “Sick” and “BLOW” (get it?). Fun fact about Fionn: they are actually made up of identical twin sisters, Alanna and Brianne Finn-Morris. So if you ever see Fionn in concert, you’re probably not seeing double.

Now for the hardest part of the job: the bands who didn’t make it (on to this week’s Top 10 List)… Just as quickly as arrived last week, Curtis Harding departs along with his album, Departures & Arrivals: Adventures Of Captain Curt. Pile stayed a while, but even Sunshine & Balance Beams weren’t enough to keep them around. Lastly, The Beths album Straight Line Was a Lie makes like Amy Sherman-Palladino on Gilmore Girls, and leaves.
