Press Play: Those Looks

todayFebruary 20, 2026

Background

Those Looks are from Lambertville, New Jersey (lead vocalist Kelly Bolding grew up in Tulsa!), and they’re offering up some amazing indie dream-pop.  The group released a new EP in May called Passing Through, and just put out a new single in December called “Cherry.” Let’s… uh… take a look and see what Those Looks have been up to.

Passing Through has five tracks, with each one offering a unique sound. There are several standout tracks on here, but my favorites are the mellow “In Tongues” and the grittier “Anti-Muse.” “In Tongues” is a dreamy, mournful tune about falling out of love, and it captures that feeling of nostalgic longing perfectly. “Anti-Muse,” however, really stings. It features some powerful guitar riffs underneath the refrain of “You can’t stand to see her upstaging you, upstaging you.” It takes this song from just another indie pop track to something interesting and exceptional.

Want more of Those Looks? Check out their debut album Cults Near Me (2022). The album’s first track, “Hymnal” is a great place to start your journey with Those Looks. From the church organ intro to the glistening guitar solos to the carefully crafted lovebomb-y lyrics, this song is something special. I also really love the fourth track, “Vertigo.” The focus of this track is vulnerability, and the band does an amazing job of capturing the feeling of hesitant hopefulness. I believe a lot of people can resonate with this song. Be sure to add them to your playlist!

Passing Through and Cults Near Me are available now on Mint 400 Records. To learn more about Those Looks, check out our interview with the band hosted by Sky, host of Her Voice. Also, check out their website and their Facebook page.
